Display Wizard - promotional research

As well as open day banner and poster research I wanted to look at examples of the stand up banners being used in other contexts, eg advertising, and general informative posters etc. I thought that doing this would widen my range of research into the banners and how I could use the space in order to create something to fit these boundaries. Also within this section of research I looked at general exhibition and similar promotional advertising, I thought that looking at designs of these would influence the overall style of my eventual designs, without the boundaries of the stand up banner dimensions. 



  • Heavily text based 
  • Not used to promote an open day but instead inform
  • Indicative colours used to differentiate 
  • Also features small pictoral elements




  • Advertisement as opposed to open day banner
  • Strong branding
  • Strong colour scheme: purple and green
  • Successful design to inform about charity




  • Picture spans across 3 banners - cool continuing design
  • Strong use of branding and photography
  • Minimal colour scheme, lets the picture be the focus




  • Exhibition branding as opposed to open day
  • Info minimal at top of banner
  • Minimal colour scheme: 2 shades purple
  • Text and 1 shape used
