Open screen: This page opens as the app does - the letters in the logo change between colours of political parties. I like this idea and could continue it onto the redesign however I think I would change the background colour to something lighter as the dark grey detracts from the colours of the letters. The changing colour of the letters though sits well with the concept behind the app so is a clever way of showing that the app is loading.
First screen: This is the page that the app automatically opens to. It features a list of buttons that run down the page, each that take you to a different part of the app as described. The initial colour scheme is grey as the party that the user affiliates themselves with has not been decided yet. After this, the colour scheme will change to reflect this.
Quiz: The above screen shows an example of how the quiz appears. The top section features the question, and the buttons below feature answers that would eventually lead to the party being decided. As this screen is very text heavy due to the nature of the questions, I have kept the design simple and following the initial designs of the home page, still following the grey colour scheme.
Definition: As some users may not know some of the terms set out within the questions, I included a handy feature that when you tap and hold on a certain word, the definition of the word will appear in a pop up box. From here you can save the word to a place within the app, or return to the quiz. I really like this feature as the purpose of the app is to educate so keeping this feature in will really help to do that.
Results: This is the results page that you would get after you have completed the quiz. From here on the colour scheme changed depending on what political party your answers sided you with. On this screen you can view the profile, view the other parties, and then there is a section where you can click through and it will open a webpage where you can register to vote. Including this was really important as you can know what party you side with but if you don't vote this information is useless. By including a handy click through link, the inconvenience of searching for the register page is taken out and this makes it easy for the person doing the quiz to vote and have their say.
Profile page: This page is your profile page, which is automatically linked to the party you affiliate with. The profile will tell you which party you side with, and include options to view the party profile or change the party. It also includes your constituency based on your GPS location at the top of the screen, and a list of your values in a priorities list based on your answers to the quiz.
Glossary: This page is a list of terms included within the quiz that you may not know and want to refer back to later on. The terms are largely political terms and I thought that having a list of terms like this would allow users to educate themselves and become more informed on the topic.
Political party list: This page features the list of all the political parties included within the app. It lists them and includes their position within politics e.g Labour is centre left wing, as well as the bar which features how popular they are and how many seats they currently have. By clicking on one of these parties you are then taking to the party profile.
Party profile page: This page features the party and the main facts about it, including its current leader, its position, how many seats it has, its slogan and then also features a break down of the parties manifesto into sections so it is easier for the user to read and understand.
News page: This page is the section of the app where relevant news stories are gathered and people can read through the stories, again extending the possibility of education about politics. Whilst this section may be useful, I don't think it is necessary within the app, as people can search for these stories themselves. I want to make the app as simple as possible and don't think this is needed.
Final look at the colour scheme: This screenshot shows the results from the quiz and how the colour scheme of the app changes from grey to the colour of each party depending on the answers given by the user. Whilst this concept works for most of the parties, it is very hard to read understand the SNP screen considering that the parties colour is yellow and you cannot read this on a white background.
