To create the overall style for the Display Wizard banners, I began designing the stand up banner to determine the style, which would then be applied to the curved stand too.
Fig 1 and 6 use the university branding of mosaic shapes, used in the LAU logo. Fig 1 tesselates the mosaic shapes at the bottom of the banner, whereas fig 6 uses the mosaic as a border, most of which falls outside the edge of the banner, so only some corners are visible, similar to the design used in the existing banners used by LAU.
Fig 2 focuses on the fact that the university is ranked number 1 in the Guardian league tables. By making a statement of the 'number 1' this would immediately draw the eye to the banner and instill in the viewer that LAU is one of the best universities they could go to.
Fig 3 focuses on the connections that you can get at the uni. By putting on workshops and events where you can network with visiting professionals, you can establish solid connections with important people, all instigated by the university. For me and my peers this is a massive plus side to the university, and is shown through a handshake which spreads across the stand.
Fig 4 is very simple and only features a banner element across the stand, this would highlight a key feature of the university.
Fig 5 features a pair of hands acting as a support for a piece of text, this highlights the great support system there is at LAU, ranging from the union to the career guidance section of LAU which is fantastic.
Figures 7, 8 and 9 feature fabric used as the backdrop for the banners, this fabric would be gold to highlight the fact the university is 'gold standard', which would be backed up by the facts and league table rankings. The gold also harks to the new build extending on to the university.
