MESH: First presentation and feedback

  • Due to the nature of our poster (perforated squares which can be ripped off and taken along as a leaflet), the poster will diminish in size and if all the pieces are taken there will be no advertisement left. The solution is to create some separate flyposters for our posters in case the pieces all are taken. Also include physical copy of posters to show in the final presentation to 2nd years.
  • Change order of presentation - when talking about the display of the posters on the mesh, the slide about building stand alone walls was nearer the end of the presentation and we had to skip through to explain properly. If the presentation was ordered more effectively this would not happen.
  • To avoid confusion we need to explain catalog style and the postcode method more concisely, in terms of the content of the exhibition.
  • Resolve all designs fully - anything unclear or iffy needs to be corrected.
  • When showing the catalog image wise have a few hung up on the wall behind the actual catalog to show that it can be a poster too.
  • Talk more about the social mesh aspect of our concept.
  • Show image of ordnance survey to make link with catalog and theme clear - links to the typeface and the idea of the map shapes.
  • Maybe we could include prices of mesh options to talk more about cost (one mesh option is cheaper and ne more expensive) break down costs with the wall building and display plan.
  • Include GIFs in presentation (if necessary use screen shots) as they are vital on Instagram and on the e invite. Also for the social media portion show the second slides on each Instagram post with the exhibition information.
  • We could possibly include a map of the actual exhibition in the catalog as portable wayfinding - would make it a lot easier to navigate and negotiate the postcode theme.
  • Show catalog as video or stills flipping through to show the right way to read through.
  • Screen print the white section over the catalog to make more relevant to theme - instead of just digital print. Easy and simple to do.
  • The design of the map is good - people in the crit wanted it on their wall.
