FORMAT

Poster designs- folding down to A4

The section of my poster I wanted showing was the bottom right section which contained the bottom of my folded object, as well as the exhibition information and half of the logo. I chose this section as I thought it was the most interesting section of the poster and would look good folded up. A bonus of having this section showing is the important information is to hand and you're able to see this straight away instead of unfolding the entire poster to find it.

Pantone leaflet

Format was a major principle for me during this module. I initially created a leaflet instead of a book for the Pantone brief.
After creating paper prototypes to establish a successful layout as well as make it easier for me to design as the layout was already created, I then designed the booklet which went all to plan. I had to print the leaflet double sided - but due to limitations in the print room I wasn't able to do this using the printers.
Instead I had to print on 2 separate sheets of paper and stick them back to back. At first I was apprehensive about this as the leaflet would not look very professional. Another limitation stopped me from using the low gsm paper stock I bought especially for the project (so the leaflet would fold easily without too much distortion) and instead in the time slot I had I had to use a thicker paper as that was all that was available.
Using a Stanley knife I cut out the holes in the front leaflet that would show the swatch through from the inside and stuck the sheets back to back using spray mount.
Due to the thickness of the paper, the booklet didn't fold in the way it was meant to and the paper tore on the outer folds.
Instead of doing this layout again I decided to create a book, as I thought it would be much easier to flick through as well as look more professional.
