Object

I began to look for an interesting paper structure to use in my poster, and base my exhibition around. The paper structure I chose to make for my poster is an octagonal prism. The actual structure is made to be twisted around so the bottom and the top of the shape are a lot wider in depth than the centre.

To make the prism you glue 2 of these nets together and fold all the dotted lines to make the twisted effect.
The end result is meant to be this version:

But I chose to make the structure less twisted so the shape was more regular. I photographed the object in my room using a makeshift backdrop.

I photographed my structure under different white balances, using different compositions and positions for my structure to be in, so I would have a range of options to chose from when I created my poster.

I chose to use the white balance that made my photos the darkest, as I thought the contrast was interesting especially with the shadows that are created by the folds in the object.
I edited the photo in Photoshop to improve the photos as I had a limited ability to take photos that would be sharp and good enough for the poster. I upped the brightness in the photo so that the structure would stand out in the photo and show the interesting folds in the shape.
