The logo for the fair is based on the architectural shapes found within the numerous columns within DC. The logo represents the history and the 'structure and support' of the city. The logo has variations in weight which varies the identity. I like the idea of using elements within the city to make it relevant, however, I feel like the university branding for LAU uses this idea by taking mosaic shape from the mosaics on the outside of the building to make the logo. However, I like the multiple applications the identity has across all mediums. The varying logo shapes and weights create diversity yet is consistent across promotional materials.
Visual Identity Design of 2017 Young Designers' Exhibition
YODEX's purpose was communication, for all generations to pass on knowledge. This is reflected in the use of tape in the construction of the background characters. The wrinkles are shown, representing the knowledge and wisdom passed on through the communication. The use of tape to create the characters is interesting as it is a different medium to those which are currently used. The similar typeface complements the background design and the bright colours make the exhibition youthful, vibrant and modern.
Exposició Fenomen Fotollibre
A type based identity for this exhibition of photobooks divides the curation into 8 genres - each of these is represented in these large scale covers. I like the idea of having big items for our interior graphics to make the exhibition more memorable and provide more than just promotional posters etc. The use of colour also emphasises the curation, and this could be applied to all subjects within our end of year show this year too.
In No Particular Order
Branding (interior graphics) for this exhibition is very minimal and focuses on the physical work displayed rather than the design to promote it. The title is perfectly representative of the layout of the exhibition, and the list of names next door to it (both printed onto the table) does not detract from the work within the exhibition. This could be a cool idea to carry across, however, we may need to add onto the branding for promotional purposes.
