Research - initial designs

In my sketches, I had an idea in mind to have the beer rings from a 6 pack of beer floating in the ocean, which would highlight the idea of plastic pollution. I wanted to have the background split in sections, to create "waves" and have these moving to simulate that the waves are moving, to make it obvious that the rings are in the sea. I also wanted to add in features such as bubbles rising up through the animation, as well as some seaweed waving.

For these quick rough designs, I had to create distorted lines for the waves and give them a fill as opposed to a stroke, and then drop in a box of the same colour below it, this is how I created the wave look. However, if I want to animate these sections individually, I will need to use a different method as one wave will have items on 2 layers. I also will need to discover if I can animate a wave created in Illustrator in After Effects. I can counter this problem by just extending the layers outside of the artboard bounds and moving the layer along to simulate a wave.

Plan
- waves moving across screen
- beer rings floating
- seaweed waving
- bubbles moving up
