Research - initial sketches

This sketch is based on the idea of using the Aldi advert concept of comparing the shops but using plastic instead of price. This is a good visual aid and would have a big impact however the layout is limited to landscape in order to show the shops side by side. This doesn't allow for flexibility within the campaign, so wouldn't be a good idea to use for a general campaign unless within the social media campaign I could utilise the multiple photos feature on Instagram, where multiple photos are collated within a post, but you have to swipe to see them, one at a time. This would reduce the visual impact of having the amounts of plastic compared side to side.

This campaign idea is simple but gets the message across. It may be too simple though and doesn't have the impact it needs despite using shocking statistics.

This idea takes inspiration from the Aldi idea in that it compares the amount of plastic that would be used by both shops, however focuses it solely on the sales of peanut butter, which is the goal of the crowdfunder to be able to supply.

This idea focuses on the idea of peanut butter being healthy for you as well as the planet. I think this campaign (and any with peanut butter) would be good to reach existing customers, however I think the very niche goal doesn't appeal to people who don't shop at Ecotopia.

This campaign focuses on the idea of rounding up your purchases and donating the extra pennies. However, this would only really be feasible when in store so wouldn't affect the crowdfunder total online, which is the aim of the campaign.

In these sketches I have drawn examples of posters as well as Instagram post shapes (squares) as these would probably be the most widely viewed sections of the campaign, and can link easily to the crowdfunder page as opposed to posters which may be impactful at a large scale but the element of clicking through and donating straight away on the crowdfunder page is removed and people may be less likely to donate because of this.
