App elements/sections
An individual user's profile, not containing any personal information eg. emails/birthday (as this can be annoying and off putting when downloading an app. Instead the user can take the upcoming quiz and view their own political affiliation. This could be tailored to the user as well in terms of location - using the constituency map to find out who is in power in their constituency as well as the local MPs.
Quiz
The quiz will be used to discover which political party the user should side with. Using a set of questions on different topics, e.g healthcare, immigration etc. and by gaging the responses to the questions, the app will display which political party shares the users views and beliefs.

Dictionary
A dictionary section would be useful to users who are oblivious to politics. A lot of terms are confusing and complicated, so by including a section where terms are clearly defined and explained, the user is more likely to understand politics and get involved with them.

Party information
There are many political parties in the UK and by including a brief profile on each, the user can take it upon themselves to read about them and do their own research. The profile could include the political leader, whether the party is left or right wing, and a few of their policies.

Social
The social element of the app could be an app based community where users can debate with each other over certain topics, either anonymously or using their real identity. This could open up a flow of discussion and get more people interested as they can discuss their results and findings with friends.

feedback
One suggestion could be that the app colour changes depending on quiz results. For example the colour scheme could be monotone and neutral before the user takes the quiz, and after the quiz has been taken and a party sided with, the app colour scheme could change to reflect that - i.e green for Green party, blue for Conservative.
As for the social section where people can debate and discuss topics, people felt that they wouldn't personally wouldn't share opinions as they want to keep it private. The issue is as well that the debate may get too heated and become arguing and that would be too complicated for the app. Instead of having an app based community the social element could be a live twitter feed linked to a hashtag or something similar. This way the app is connected to the outside world and users can follow this through to connect with other people this way.
A good suggestion was to add in news/polls. However, many newspapers have political affiliations and the user is meant to come to their own conclusion based on facts and neutral evidence. I could still include the live poll results though, under the party page - I could use infographics to show live results of ongoing polls to reflect parties popularity even after the election has been held.
