In an attempt to make the photo content more consistent I edited the photos to increase the vibrancy of each colour and create a lighter background in each. Even after doing this the photos were still inconsistent. After experimenting with cutting the background out of the photos completely, the theme did not work well with all photos.
To solve this problem I have applied a subtle textured filter across all photos I am using in the book. On each photo I layered over the same subtle texture, in which the texture (scratches, blotches) are concentrated on the edges, used the multiply button to apply it to each photo and then adjusted the opacity according to the type of light in each photo.
The texture works well seeing as the records themselves are based on texture and have a vintage/retro appeal, and the photo set after applying this effect work better together. The texture also helps to define the edges of each photo - making the contrast between each photo and white page higher, which makes the photos look more in place.
After creating my experimentations in Illustrator (so that I could see the double page spreads), I took all my content into InDesign.

I have added a 3mm bleed to the page to allow for printing, as well as placed guides at each edge of the page 5mm in to allow for perfect binding.
