Photographs provided are of assorted records from the client, alongside sleeves as well as items used for maintenance.
According to my layouts I will need maximum 14 photographs, which could be reduced to 12 over a few double page spreads I have planned out in my publication.
I have had to remove some of the photographs provided as they are out of focus or not ideal for the publication which leaves me with 10 groups of pictures (most are of same record at different angles). I can repeat some records as long as the pictures are different enough and spread out in the publication.
When editing images I needed to make them look more consistent as they were taken in different lighting. The backgrounds of some are dark and the framing of others are not ideal.
By adjusting the brightness, contrast and levels of each picture I was able to keep the quality of the photograph as well as intensify the colours. The background of each photo is lightened considerably, however as you can see by the comparison of the edited photos of the red and black records, the background is still inconsistent in tone through both photos.
Some of the photos provided are also questionable in framing and composition. I have had to again just the levels as well as crop the photos very closely (example below).
I will work with the photos I have and have adjusted them to best suit the book. Ideally I would have an overall better set of photographs to include. Some are high quality and I will be able to design with these.
