OUGD404 - colour booklet layout

For my colour booklet I wanted to make something different, with a unique layout and format. Instead of creating a book, I chose to make a leaflet.

The first fold I looked at was this brochure fold. A single sheet of A2 would be folded i half widthways, and then widthways again to create a mini booklet. The result is 8 pages, with the page layout jumping from back to front when the sheet is unfolded. I soon decided that the layout was a bit complicated and hard to read when the sheet is unfolded, as well as the booklet being too small overall which I meant I would not be able to fit in all the information I needed.

I then moved on to look at another way of folding my booklet. Instead of A2 size I decided instead to create my booklet in A3 size. The front cover would have a section cut out of it to show the swatch from my chosen photo.

Aside from the front cover of the booklet, the inside would have a concertina fold, so the last page you see below would end up underneath the front cover. this meant the photo would be placed here, with the swatch underneath (this would show through the cut out). In order for there to be enough space for all the information needed. the second and last panels would be folded over from the other side, so when unfolded, there would be space underneath to put more information.

I again decided to adjust my design slightly as there was still not enough room to fit all items into the booklet.
I kept the front cover the same design with the cut out as I thought this was a cool way for the swatch to be displayed. The book had the same concertina fold, but the last page which would end up underneath the front cover would be split into 2.
