Research - my own plastic consumption

I did the quiz on Greenpeace's website about my own plastic consumption as I was curious as to how much plastic I go through. The quiz asks questions such as how many bottles do you buy a week, how many take away coffee cups do you use, plastic bags and earbuds are also included too. At the end of the quiz it tallies up how much plastic you use in a year and shows it to you in an infrographic format, by showing every item you use in a long list.

I was really surprised at my amount, 740 doesn't seem like a lot over a year but when that is almost 2 pieces of plastic a day and the amount is spread out for me to see it is shocking. I know that I use more plastic than this, through items such as make up, and toiletries. I do try and reduce my consumption through buying loose fruit and veg, as well as using a reusable coffee cup and water bottle. However, I know I could cut down my consumption more by buying at zero waste stores and using make up that doesn't come in plastics, however it is almost impossible to live a zero waste life. This quiz is a good tool for people to analyze their consumption and hopefully it will encourage them to reduce their consumption by making changes to their lifestyle.
