Max - logo development after feedback

After this stage of design I took my designs to Max for feedback and for him to chose his favourite. Out of the logos I sent him, he suggested that the final logo be a mix of logo 1 and 3. I was unsure about how this would look as I thought the logo would look too busy having all these elements in the design but I attempted this anyway.

After attempting to incorporate both of the logos together in a few different ways, my expectation that the logo would look too busy was evident because there were too many elements overcomplicating the design. Instead I tried to find an alternative way that I could include these lines Max wanted in a more subtle, unobtrusive way. I thought that adding lines to the sun in the arc would appear more natural, so experimented with placement of these, having them at different lengths as well as trying them fully around the sun, or either under or above the arc.

After deciding that the lines looked better under the arc as it is included within the overall shape and doesn't disturb the overall arc, I moved on to tweaking the rest of the logo. The mountains to me didn't seem very mountain like, they seemed a bit childish and missing details. Instead of having the range as one continuous line, I added in lines to the front central mountain. Experimenting with length of these as well as positioning (having the lines joined or broken apart) lead me to the final design, where the first left mountain would extend, as well as the right line on the central mountain, which gives the logo a realistic perspective.

This is the final logo created for Max, after a lot of tweaking and variation this is the logo the client decided he was happy with as it meets his criteria, represents what he wants to get across and meets his expectations and tweaks. I am happy with the outcome as I feel it is a more developed outcome than my initial ideas, and I have worked closely with the client to ensure a logo he is happy with.
