- consume a lot of pro biotics and pre biotics
- fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi

STRESS (how to handle eg. mindfulness, yoga)
- stress affects the sympathetic nervous system (takes blood from gut to muscles)
- yoga (as effective as good diet in some studies)
- mindfulness relaxes body
- stay away from phones when eating
From the podcasts I listened to I discovered that yoga and mindfulness/reduction of stress were just as important as diet in the day to day handling of IBS, which surprised me a lot. I thought that diet was probably the most important factor due to the inherent link between the gut and food, so finding out that stress relief was just as important was surprising. From this I can include more about this in the magazine as it is so helpful for managing IBS.
