Internal Collab - ‘Bleedin’ Saor dispenser design

A group of product design students have created a dispenser that hold sanitary products. These products are free, provided by their university and the dispensers were created working with the University’s Property and Facilities’ team in order to carry out the scheme of free sanitary products that is now being funded by the Scottish Government.

The products for the scheme consist of 5 acrylic dispensers which have been laser cut. 4 out of the 5 dispensers are clear whereas the 5th is made from red acrylic. This signifies that 1 in 5 Scottish girls are living in period poverty. The dispensers display the product front and centre, breaking the stigma that the products should be hidden. This is a good initiative as it gets people talking about periods.
