In order to have work to show in the Hue exhibition the word needs to get out about it and be open to people for submissions.
The method we decided on is that people will email if they are interested in submitting work, and either they will tell us a piece of work they have in mind of either red, blue or yellow, or if they want to create something they will be assigned a colour. This stops there from being too many submissions under one colour and none under another. We have set up a joint email to organise submissions and assign colours.

The open call will follow the same theme as the rest of the advertisements, circles and primary colours. Design for this may be simpler than the rest of the advertising, so people can read it clearly and find out information quickly.

The above designs for the open call advertisement are clearer to read than previous designs for the flyer. Due to the need for more text, the white background is more of a feature. The bottom right 2 designs are more streamlined use the coloured circles as more of a reference point and explanation as opposed to the other posters who use the circles are more of a design feature.

Looking more at a smaller advertisement, one that perhaps could be digital instead of printed, the use of a circle is more understated than in previous experiments. However, I think that the design and composition are too similar to the gifs advertising the exhibition created for social media. There needs to be some variation between the types of advertisement.

In these designs, I have utilised the circle more than in previous advertisements. Making it the primary feature in the design and having the text protruding from the circle draws your eye to the ad, more so than if the ad was on a standard poster format and shape.

Using vinyl stickers as opposed to paper will let the designs pop as they are not constricted by a white background. These stickers will be applied to various walls around uni to encourage submissions, as well as in town (temporary stickers will be allowed).
