Logo
For our logo we wanted something that would reflect the squared/pixel theme of our branding, as well as the name. We created an 'M' for Mesh on grid paper, using the squares to our advantage, as easy building blocks for the letterform. Out of the options, the above right logo was our favourite version of the 'M' as it followed the linear appearance we were hoping for, as well as looking different to most sqaurish 'M's, which follow the shape of the right column on the sketches. The middle of the M is different to any I've seen and by bending back the shape of the M, we managed to avoid any diagonal lines. The diagonal lines in question would need to be made out of pixels also but the arrangement of them looks really disjointed as they join at the corners of each rather than the sides.
We also decided to add the full stop in the square shape to further reinforce the square appearance, we also thought the logo needed something more, the 'M' by itself looked kind of lost without it.
Typeface
As well as creating a logo, we also designed a custom typeface for the exhbition, again using a grid and giving the letters that linear appearance. We thought the custom typeface would work better for a title typeface than any other we could find on Adobe software/ the internet as it would compliment our project better. From the typeface we were able to create a longer version of our logo as well - the extended version of our logo 'MESH' would work well on a catalog, whereas the singular letter logo would be more suited to social media such as Instagram or Facebook.
